The English Wedding

michaels-097-(ZF-7223-27864-1-002)For the last month, Anna has been back in England celebrating her wedding. (She and her husband were officially married at Manhattan City Hall in 2014 but this November the two finally had the chance to celebrate with all their friends and family in a slightly more traditional setting!)

Anna is now back in New York and excited to be working on a number of projects including directing several new theatre pieces that will be shown in the New Year.

Happy Yummy Chicken trailer released

Directed by Anna Loyd Bradshaw and starring Taryn Manning (Hustle & Flow, Orange is the New Black), Diane Guerrero (Jane the Virgin, Orange is the New Black), Suzzanne Douglas (How Stella Got Her Groove Back, Lifetime’s Whitney) and Emma Myles (Orange is the New Black), Happy Yummy Chicken is a mockumentary about two men making a musical about one woman who sits in a fried chicken restaurant for two months after a breakup. A satire of true events, the film takes a simultaneously outrageous and poignant view of the insane things we do for love.

Seen on a Bench

Seen on a Bench copyLast night a new piece of Anna’s, Growing Up with Miss Elizabeth, was read for the first time, to a full house, at Fair Folks and a Goat in Greenwich Village. Anna was also happy to have been asked to direct another reading of May Flowers which also featured yesterday evening along with two other new plays by Darby Hannon and Alison Zajac-Batell.

God is a Ford Man

Armand in God is a Ford ManThis week Anna was at The Manhattan Repertory Theatre directing God is a Ford Man, a new short play by Kentucky based writer Phil Paradis. Anna had a lot of fun on the piece working with Armand Eisen, a classically trained Shakespearian actor who has studied in England (which, for Anna, is always a bonus!)

Project Pluto

Last month Anna was very happy to be collaborating remotely with a wonderful group of Oxfordshire (UK) based artists on Project Pluto. Anna’s brother, Matt Bradshaw, a musician, physicist and all round creative maverick, put together this nine minute long creative collaboration as a tribute to Pluto’s former ninth-planet status. Have a listen… ideally in the dark. Enjoy!
